Our History

1932 Arthur and Rose Baker started as peat farmers in Meare, Glastonbury on the Somerset Levels.  They purchased a cow  and started building their farming business.

1945 they purchased a farm at Bradford Peveral near Dorchester

1949 and they moved again to Kingston Farm near Dorchester where the ended up with 70 cows on 590 acres

1966 Arthur and Roses's son, Ken Baker, bought Windmill Farm continuing dairy arable and beef with his 3 sons

1990 Chris Baker, grandson to Ken Baker, started working for Cannington College, specialist Land Based College

2001 Chris and his father Vincent bought Windmill Farm to continue dairy farming 

2007 Chris set up a training centre on the farm as diversification

2009 The cows were sold and the farm is now arable and beef
